Role Overview:

We seek ambitious and conscientious English teachers to help our undergraduate students continue their English language learning journey from high-school into university and onward to the workplace. The role involves delivering engaging, student-centred General English lessons with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics topics.

Key Responsibilities:

? Teach General undergraduate English courses using materials provided by the department.

? Administer and mark assessments throughout the semester.

? Hold small group tutorials to provide students detailed feedback on their progress and give them guidance and encouragement in making necessary improvements.

? Participate actively in meetings and departmental projects.

Requirements:

? Strong English proficiency (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent).

? Master’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field.

? CELTA/TESOL certification (we favour face-to-face over online delivery)

? 300+ hours English teaching experience (equivalent to 1 year full time).

? A clear interest in working with undergraduate students

Preferred

? Experience of overseas university study or work

? Background or interest in STEM subjects (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
