Role Overview:
We seek to appoint an experienced English teacher who, working closely with the Head of Department, will take responsibility for leading a team of English teachers. The post-holder will ensure the deliver of high-quality English instruction through planning lessons and developing materials for others, observing teaching delivery, providing feedback and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching (40%)
? Teach undergraduate English courses using materials provided by the department, published and self-made materials, hold small group tutorials, administer and mark course assessments.
Leadership (30%)
? Mentor and supervise up to 6 English teachers through lesson observations and 1 to 1 meetings.
? Hold weekly team meetings to provide guidance and direction through the semester.
? Act as liaison between teachers and management.
Curriculum development (30%)
? Lead on the design and development of English courses and assessments.
Requirements:
? Strong English proficiency (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent).
? Master’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field.
? CELTA/TESOL certification(we favour face-to-face over online delivery)
? 1,200+ hours university teaching experience (equivalent to 4 years full time).
? Proven team leading/course management/mentorship skills.
Preferred
? DELTA or equivalent certification.
? Experience of overseas university study or work
? Background or interest in STEM subjects (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
